I have a passion for quiz shows – preferably the ones that really require a huge dollop of lateral thinking and not the everyday high prize tv fodder. I really do like a challenge and so long as I know roughly what they are looking for, it doesn’t generally take me long to work out the answer. This ability to sort the wheat from the chaff was drilled in to me in a job many years ago. There was no onsite learning on computers or e-learning of any kind. I had to learn very quickly how to work out the exact number of coins of each monetary denomination for the pay packets of weekly paid mill workers who were on piece rates. I.e. it was not a fixed salary, but they were paid according to grade but also against their personal work output. E-learning or other online education would have been so helpful here!
