If Only All Online Medical Training Was Covered By ABC . . . .

In these days of acute shortages in the national health providing community, there is very little time for going on long courses, however beneficial they used to be considered.  The priorty nowadays is to keep staff informed and up to date with their own career focused discliplines.  There are hundreds of nhs backed online courses for staff to enhance their own knowledge as well as keeping abreast of the latest trends and thinking on a particular subject.

Take the nursing profession, they have so many different tasks to be dealt with in any one day on the ward.  Patients constantly moving in and out of wards, records to be updated, information to be passed on to the next shift colleague.  Essential note tasking is therefore needed to keep abread of a patient’s progress, or otherwise.  How to ensure no one slips through the ever widening cracks, that is the problem.

A new training course, online, is called literally the ABCDE programme and it is primarily to ensure that a deteriorating patient is recognised and attended to in a more timely and organised fashion.   Students will learn  how working their way through the list of assessments needed to come to informed and rational conclusion – it helps heath professionals to support the workings of the clinical teams.  Working their way from A to E , treating life threatening problems before moving to the next part of the assessments process.
