Training To Become Modern Day Nursery Nurse In The Real World

There is sometimes a misconception that nursery nurse just means wiping baby’s face or changing nappies all day.  But no, there is a great deal more to the role nowadays.  They are respoonsible for their charges’ safety and well being plus their development emotionally and of course physically.   These tasks include feeding routines and nappy changing whilst introducing a programme of solid food and graduating to potty and toilet training as the time comes.

In any nursery setting, the senior members are known as Nursery Nurses whilst their underlings are generally nursery assistants.    The assistants will usually be working towards their NVQ Level 2 qualification and will be well supervised by the seniors who will all be at least Level 3, some with more years in th job will reach Level 4.   The Level 3 diploma in health and social care offers free online enrolment for any individual who has basic experience and now wants to enhance their skills in the healthcare sector – this can lead to a fulfilling career with many avenues open to them.  Each will require dedicated training along the way and a focus on career development can be rewarding.    There are many thousands of private nurseries with their own pay and remuneration schemes, but the hierarchy system for staff qualification will in almost all cases be standard across the board.   For formal nurseries, a basic Level 2 qualification will be required with expectation the candidate will want to work towards their Levels 3 and 4.
